About Us

Located in the Plano / Frisco area of North Texas, this project was launched as a vehicle to provide event calendar information for concerts in the D/FW Metroplex area. Founded by Warren Paul Harris, a regional photographer, this site is unlike similar sites due to its focus on reviewing and photographing the concerts as much as providing simple event information.

Warren Paul Harris - Photographer / President

Warren Paul Harris is an independent freelance photographer in the Dallas / Fort Worth region of Texas. With 20 years of experience in the Rock 'n Roll industry as a Recording Engineer, Live Sound Engineer, Recording Studio Designer and Photographer, Warren is exceptionally well-suited to the live rock 'n roll photography he has honed to a fine art for over three decades.

Mr. Harris was exposed to live music at an early age, being fortunate to live in Marin County, just outside San Francisco during the psychedelic period of the 1960s. This phenomenal streak of good fortune gave him access to the classic music venues and the opportunity to call as his friends members of the Grateful Dead, Quicksilver Messenger Service, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Janis Joplin, Boz Skaggs, and a host of others throughout the years.

As a Technical Engineer for Los Angeles-based Motown Records in 1974, a fledgling photographer turned his lens on the musicians he worked with, capturing their performances in an earthy, edgy black and white style he has perfected over the last three decades. Combining his musical background, (playing guitar since 1964) with 20 years of experience in Live Sound Engineering has given Mr. Harris the uncanny ability to predict performance events in advance, enabling him to capture those “magic moments” with a deft touch.

While Mr. Harris has developed a substantial portfolio of nocturnal time-exposure, fashion and architectural photography, his passion remains in rock and roll.

A recently launched website, DFWRocks.net is a music-centric website designed to provide local music event calendar information, review and photographs of the events.
